9/11: The Falling Man (2006)

"The Falling Man, the story of the 'jumpers' of 9/11. It follows the trail of the photographer who nearly lost his life shooting the image; of the citizens who decried it, arguing that it was sensational and exploitative; of the editors who published it and then reluctantly banned it; and the journalist who finally uncovered the falling man's identity. The Falling Man confronts this single, harrowing image and helps history to give a proper due to the jumpers of 9/11." -cbc.ca

Really interesting watch. I would be one of those people trying to find out who the falling man was too, I would be too curious not to be.

Is'nt weird the image verification number we type in to post our views which is chosen for us,The falling mans image verification number is his FALL which is chosen by circumstance of tragedy. Oxygen versus Gravitys death net, it is good to take your last breath with the absence of suffocation.

Very poignant and morbid film about the 9/11 Jumpers from the WTC. This film sure is a tough pill to swallow but well deserving. the jumpers of 9/11 should never be forgotten just because people are afraid to put themselves in a place that would make them think about the harrowing decision these people had to make and made. In a time and place where things were out their control, they seem to have made a choice on the one last thing they had control of, how they were going to die.
as one person in the film puts it... It was probably the last thing they could keep control of, their life and how it was going to end.. in fire or by choice in free fall.
And as another person puts it, they had two choices of execution and no third choice. It is a private moment, a quiet moment captured in a flash of life before death.
The Falling Man photo has stirred emotions and anger and more, a picture is worth a thousand words... and this reporter is trying to find out who that person in the photo is... but no... it seems people still will be willing to watch blood, sex and death in over gratuitous TV shows and movies, but not in reality. Good film, morbid and good.
