Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday Prophecy

"The world is coming to an end on December 21, 2012! The ancient Maya made this stunning prediction more than 2,000 years ago. We'll peel back the layers of mystery and examine in detail how the Maya calculated the exact date of doomsday. Journey back to the ancient city of Chichen Itza, the hub of Maya civilization deep in the heart of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, to uncover the truth about this prophecy. The Maya were legendary astronomers and timekeepers--their calendar is more accurate than our own. By tracking the stars and planets they assigned great meaning to astronomical phenomena and made extraordinary predictions based on them--many of which have come true. Could their doomsday prophecy be one of them? In insightful interviews archaeologists, astrologers, and historians speculate on the meaning of the 2012 prophecy. Their answers are as intriguing as the questions." -history.com

This documentary will at least give you some insight into how the Maya viewed time. The Mayan prophecy of 2012 is anchored to an astronomical alignment. When the 2012 December solstice sun lines up with the center of our Milky Way Galaxy the Maya believed that the earth would be destroyed by flood. This prophecy can be found on the last page of the Dresden Codex, waves will gush from the mouth of the celestial dragon. More flood water pour from Sun and Moon symbols from the underside of the monster's body. An aged Goddess pours a jar of flood water onto the earth. At the bottom of the picture crouches a ruler of the underworld. Above the picture about half of the 15 glyphs have been destroyed but a few of the remaining ones consistently refer to Black Earth and Black on High. My own visions of our coming doom correlate very closely to what the Maya have predicted. The floods, storms, fierce winds, and evil unleashed onto the earth beginning in 2009 shall open many eyes.

As the cross grows ever so near
The world shall be in a state of fear
I see the passing for an alliance with greed
Instead of helping the people in dire need
This was our fate for we shall fail
The vision of warning from a single male
As the earth turns black with a deadly chill
The clock shall strike 3 as time stands still

There couldn't be a more assumptive "documentary" made. Its sad, skewed and completely leading in its line of reasoning. I would imagine the Universal workings are entirely cyclical, and that our perspective could be viewed as the smaller cogs in a much greater watch. Rhythms or patterns would have to develop which would be Universally expressed from the Macrocosm all the way down to microcosm because of the nature of the Universe's total connectedness.
Just as weather changes, terrestrially speaking, so might galactic rhythms change. By virtue of how we are resonant within and to our planet as a living organism here, we might also be subject to the greater rhythms in terms of consciousness as they move through their cycles.
To assume disaster is to deny one's own ability to shape their own destiny through conscious decisions and creative application (action) of one's desire. One engaged human can make incredible changes that can reverberate outward to affect all humanity. History bears this message repeatedly.
Don't buy the 2012 hype, it's total bull***.
The changes that come, that matter the most to us all, are the changes within ourselves. We carry that outward into the worlds around us.
Spend your time being creative, not wasting it on this useless video.
I now have a regret in life. Heh heh.

The only reason it got a above average was because of the new information and the relatively objective point of view. But its too tragic that they didnt go in deeper to very thing(!) they named their show. I got the feeling of being cheated, it needed more stuffing then an turkey more candlelights then xmastree....(zzz)...okay it was interesting.

Typos now corrected: False/misunderstood information in this History channel episode. The Mayan are not predicting the end of the human race, NO DOOMSDAY. Rather the message is the opposite... It's "the end of the world as we know it" meaning: a coming into an excitingly new expansion of consciousness, taking us to NEW HEIGHTS, creating our own NEW EARTH based on Peace, Love, Cooperation, Joy and Unity through co-creative consciousness. See website www.mayanmajix.com for DVD's that give the REAL SCOOP.... also Google "Ian Xel Lungold".
