Louis Theroux - Behind Bars (2008)

"When Louis Theroux went to San Quentin prison he found a bizarre self-contained society where 'straight' men fall in love, gangs are divided along strict racial lines and an inmate can be assaulted for the most minor mistake."

Moor brings up a good point. I think that the gang leaders themselves made a rule to were their fellow members were not allowed to talk to Louis. Although it seemed that two of the interviewees were gang leaders or upper management if you will. As for the majority of the prisoners that were interviewed I think that they were who the guards knew well enough, and thought those individuals would be less likely to commit any acts of violence against Louis. Not that prison is full of people that are interesting, but I think that they showed a very biased look of what it is like behind bars.

They only spoke to "gang drop-outs" and homosexuals. Thats like going to a masonic temple with cameras and interviewing the janitor.
