Wow, this is a troubling, terrifying movie. Peter Lorre is superb. You can't help but feel the fascism that was on the horizon there in Germany. The 'safecracker' character looks like the future gestapo thug, and the pedophile- monster being portrayed 70yrs back is especially gruesome. I don't think anybody forgets this movie easily. It's terribly good!
