The Power of Nightmares:
The Rise of the Politics of Fear (2004)
Part 1
(Part 2) (Part 3)

"This documentary offers a remarkable insight into the reality of our current fear induced climate. Adam Curtis chronicles the rise of neo-conservatism and the resulting change in the world's political agenda orchestrated by those who place their trust in the philosophical ideal of the necessity of evil to unite a country. The filmmaker manages to successfully pluck apart the myth of the reality of there being a logistically organized terror network, let alone one that is managing to orchestrate terror attacks from a cave in the remote mountains of Afghanistan. His arguments are backed up by some eye opening interviews with authorities on the field of Islamic fundamentalism, members of the US government and members of the US judicial system. These insights are parred with concrete, startling facts and the result is a program that manages to shake us awake making us aware of a far more realistic terror threat namely that of psychological warfare carried out by the powers that be, accompanied by a sensationalist media frenzy. I cannot recommend this program highly enough." -imdb.com

Nick- a country cannot be founded on freedom, a country is founded on BORDERS and Patriotism, 2 qualitys that contradict FREEDOM. Freedom was founded upon THE PEOPLE!! and it is this idea that is growing until a human paradise can be established on this EARTH.

To Nick and Sean you guys need brain transplants...I saw this when it came out I believed then I believe it now, Bush and his Cronies are looking at hard time for War Crimes and crimes against humanity. If you think that controlled explosion at the trade center was really a Taliban creation, then you need new glasses! Look at how the buildings dropped STRAIGHT DOWN! So Nick and Sean STFU you neo-cons....

Hey sean did you ever think that we should have learned to read and write in grade school? its a conspiracy theory because YOU dont belive it now if YOU did belive it then it would be a tottally different case. Not to mention what this country was founded upon was freedom for the people. a complete country for the people where our votes run the country. but then why are we in such a parrell? this should be taught in high schools because people need to be taught how to question autority because were taught not too. wich pretty much ***s in our forefathers faces. so sean ***

Required viewing for high school students? You'd really rather have thm watch some garbage movie about conspiracy theories instead of how to read and write?

Indeed, a very informative documentary. I wish it were "required viewing" in all of our high-schools. I've always maintained that so much of what we consider "history" is nothing more than a series of staged events and contrivances. Part One of this video seems to bolster that argument. I'm looking forward to viewing Part Two... --Troy, Hyde Park, NY
