It is true that we all want different things, because for example, one person might want to dress like a goth, another like the teenagers on the cover of a beauty magazine, and the third like a person on the cover of a business magazine.
The only way in which we are really alike is we share our goal to survive. But right now, both I and you, while reading this at least, are alive, and there was enough materials to keep both of us at least alive. And what about others? So this kind of proves these two points discussed in the movie that were not so clear.

You might as well try out the ideas in the movie, even if it does not seem to work for you, you at least will get some entertainment out of this.
And see what Rafal wrote... This is such a big coincidence, especially the last two sentences, because I am writing a giant book dealing with the same idea, and here is a guy that only had to post a few words on a blog telling the same exact thing.
By the way, I had to bring up the Human Genome Project. Do you think that a person living in, say, early Renaissance, would even know what DNA is? Or that the order of bases in something this small could ever be determined? People probably saw that children in an average family had simular physical characteristics as their parents. But if anyone were to suggest the idea of DNA, a person back then would probably wave it off as a madman's random babble. Maybe THIS idea is just too far ahead of our own times. That is why it is still a secret. Also, for a piece of solid evidence, placebos DO work as cures for illnesses in some cases. Research it on the Web if you do not believe me.

I agree. The movie is great. Has anyone seen the movie that picks up where this movie left off? It's called The Opus. I recently saw it and love it as well. It seems to go more in-depth by having the cast, including some of The Secret cast, talk about how they "got ahead" and gives us insight as to how to succeed as well. The movie is still premiering places but they have a website up. I think it's" theopusmovie.com

I must say, what a great movie, truly the best message one could put in a movie. I've read the book, this really is a must watch and more importantly a must DO !
Use these principals, especially if you are a scptic, the results can really blow you away.

I love The Secret!! I believe that even if it isn't the prinicples in the secret that work that positive thinking is enough. Even if you don't believe that thinking about things you want will allow you to recieve them, the outlook that the secret gives us will make us happier and more positive people which in turn will let others react to us in a more positive light. You know when you're having a good day more things seem to go your way...maybe something as simple as getting out of a traffic ticket or having someone give you something just for being you. Positive thinking creates positive energy and will then radiate to those around you.

It struck me, and I do belive in this. But as a scientist with an educated mind, who is often encouraged to be a critical thinker, the last comment that there is enough for everyone as we all want different things, has made me to really think... I hope this is not taken as a denial of this movie. Questioning and answering things like this are commonly done as a part of practice in Budhism, and I am sort of quesitoning in such way to sort of polishing the ideas and interpret it clealy. Is it true that we all want different things?
