The Story of Stuff

"From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever."

I watched this video on a recommendation from a friend. While there were a few facts and statistics I might question, I found the basic premise to be great. The world you have created with your mind is broken and unsustainable. I will call it a 9.

So the mfg of the 4.99 radio profits by spending more for materials & transportation, and pollution than they charge for the radio??? That logic is almost as funny as a "keyboard marine" who thinks everyone who doesn't agree with him is wrong.
professional natural resource biologist is obviously a fancy term for fart sniffer.

This video was cute and funny. I really enjoyed it. Anyone who does not like this video for its general message is letting thier fear boil to hate. Think about it. Yes, I'm talking to you! I was a U.S. Marine, and later a U.S. soldier. I now make my living as professional natural resource biologist for the U.S. government. I know fear when I see it. If it bothers you (makes you angry) because some well meaning people made this video, then you are simply afraid. The cure is to turn off your television, go outside, and start thinking for yourself.

Simple effective and informative. Overlooks a lot and not all produce is toxic but for information in general it gets the point over. Should be shown in all schools which have toxic computers, that way we get a little out of our disposable junk that might just help our sad looking future.

This may be "Hippie crap" to you, but we'd better pay attention. Watch all parts of "The Century of The Self" on this site. And do some 'real' research.
