Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (2005)

"This documentary takes the viewer on a deeply personal journey into the everyday lives of families struggling to fight Goliath. From a family business owner in the Midwest to a preacher in California, from workers in Florida to a poet in Mexico, dozens of film crews on three continents bring the intensely personal stories of an assault on families and American values." -imdb.com

It's easy to fight Walmart....Just like we did KMart. STOP SHOPPING THERE!!! KMart is mostly bankrupt and have shut down stores all over the country. The same can be done to Walmart. When Sam Walton was alive, it used to be a good company. Most of the people I know that worked for them, hate Walmart and Sam's Club. The company is horrible, we can easily destroy them by denying them money to operate and stay in Business in America. There is nothing I can't buy in Walmart I can't buy somewhere else. In my hometown, they are infamous for not hiring Americans, only illegal Mexicans they can get to work for below poverty wages. I have a choice, I can drive by, give them the finger, go to Target, Ace Hardware, or any other business and not have to search 45 minutes for someone that speaks English!

We already know that Wal-Mart is not fair to their workers and they take advantage of the Chinese and eastern factory workers and I think they need to be held responsible. What I would like to know is WHY these workers' governments ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN? They are just as much to blame as the Wal-Mart compant itself.

Tom is totally out of touch with reality. Wake up and smell the coffee, sir. Your four walls of comfort are a single pixel in the big picture of life on earth. From the health insurance companies to the mega-big box retailers you will find the system geared to maximize profits at the expense of the common man and woman. Open your eyes, ears, and mind. The revolution is now!

This movie doesn't say anything. Economic adjustments occur and there is always some discomfort. But in the end everything is working better. The video is demagogic with music accompanying the emotional content.
