The War You Don't See (2010)

"A powerful and timely investigation into the media's role in war, tracing the history of 'embedded' and independent reporting from the carnage of World War One to the destruction of Hiroshima, and from the invasion of Vietnam to the current war in Afghanistan and disaster in Iraq. As weapons and propaganda become even more sophisticated, the nature of war is developing into an 'electronic battlefield' in which journalists play a key role, and civilians are the victims. But who is the real enemy? John Pilger says in the film: "We journalists… have to be brave enough to defy those who seek our collusion in selling their latest bloody adventure in someone else's country… That means always challenging the official story, however patriotic that story may appear, however seductive and insidious it is. For propaganda relies on us in the media to aim its deceptions not at a far away country but at you at home… In this age of endless imperial war, the lives of countless men, women and children depend on the truth or their blood is on us… Those whose job it is to keep the record straight ought to be the voice of people, not power.""

They kill women and children in Afghanistan because you cannot tell who is the enemy there. The enemy does not wear a uniform. Women could be men with bombs under their burkas. You do not trust anyone. It is kill or be killed over there. I am sorry that is the way it is. When you are promised 40 virgins in heaven, and you believe that; when you are in a religion that tells you all others outside your religion are infidels, and they should be killed; when you are taught your job is to kill the enemy, what do you expect? that is why it is called war, not peace. We fight wars to have peace, and the peace gets to be less and less forthcoming as time goes on. The world is a sad place to live. I am sorry. I am not a man. I am proud not to be a man. I am proud to not have to be in a war. But, oh yeah, I am in one in my heart as I pray every day my youngest son does not die. I can only hope his words, "you didn't raise no dummy, mom" keep him alive as others may die, but this time, he will come back home to the USA. I do not think war is a woman's choice. And I know, men rule this world, not women.

I can hardly believe this is the first time I came across this film. I had never heard of it till I stumbled onto this site. Everyone knows about the wikileaks scandal. It's just sad that the american government would go as far as threatening it's citizens if they would attempt to access the site. When I first saw that footage I could only imagine how terrible the afterlife would be for the soldiers who created such evil amongst the world. And it is rightly so that they would for God gave us intelligence as a species, and the free will to seek out the truth and peace within humanity, and resist the ignorance of the few who choose a path of evil.
